The Blame Game

The Blame Game
The first few chapters of Genesis establish some absolutes. 1) God created 2) God made 3) God said. These are absolutes.
What has happened in the text is that both Adam and Eve have violated some absolutes and in an effort to exonerate themselves they engaged in the “Blame Game”.
We don’t like taking responsibility for what we do or decide, nor what we believe.
We:
- Blame somebody – Adam blamed Eve
- Blame Satan – Eve blamed The Serpent
- Blame God – Both blamed God
My question is who’s really to blame? For decisions that we make that we’ve been told all our lives not to make. Who’s to blame? For actions taken that even we ourselves second guess. Who’s to blame? For acting on, out of control, emotions. Who’s to blame? For not maintaining a decent relationship with friends, family and God. Who’s to blame?
I AM!! I must take responsibility for what I do, say and think and then give my all to make the best of the situation at hand; trying never to make the same mistake twice.
